Your VoIP number is a unique number that is provided to you at sign-up. Through it, your 1ButtontoWiFi will allow your cellphone to act as a WiFi phone.
Will 1ButtontoWiFi save me money?
Yes. Individuals and corporations with moderate to large long distance or international call usage can enjoy significant savings, depending on call volume -up to 90%.
How does 1ButtontoWiFi affect my cell phone minutes?
For the most part, your cell phone minutes will always be used when accessing our network through your cellphone. Some cellular carriers however offer plans that allow you to call certain numbers that do not affect your minutes. With these plans, simply add the number we give you and take advantage of the free minutes.
When calling other parties, do they also need 1ButtontoWiFi or another VoIP service?
No. Using 1ButtontoWiFi, you can connect to anyone with a telephone number.
Do I need my computer running in order to receive calls?
No. You may choose to accept calls through your existing landline service. You may also use an additional analog phone to plug into your Control Center and receive calls on your personal VoIP number.
Can I use 1ButtontoWiFi from anywhere in the world?
Yes, your 1ButtontoWiFi account provides you with complete portability. You can access 1ButtontoWiFi from anywhere in the world using local numbers provided for your 1ButtontoWiFi account. Check our website to see which countries we where we have provided Customers with local access numbers.
Will the 1ButtontoWiFi service interfere with my DSL or cable modem data connection?
The 1ButtontoWiFi service routes your incoming and outgoing voice calls right alongside the data being sent to or from your computer. Thus, you can make and receive calls while you use your computer to access the Internet. 1ButtontoWiFi uses advanced audio compression techniques to minimize the data traffic caused by voice calls and maximize the bandwidth available for your other Internet traffic.
How can I access 1ButtontoWiFi's services through my Public Service Number?
To access any of 1ButtontoWiFi's services through a Public Service Number you have to first link your Public Service Number with the chosen service. To do that, go to www.1buttontowifi.com and log in to your account. Select the Control Center page, click on Request Service Numbers button, check the checkbox next to the service that you want to access through your Public Service Number, and click on the Update button. Now you can access the service of your choice through dialing your Public Service Number.
What if I forget my 1ButtontoWiFi service number?
Your 1ButtontoWiFi service number is displayed on your account page at the www.1buttontowifi.com. Simply go to the web site and log into your account.
Is there a difference between using DSL or Cable modem when using 1ButtontoWiFi? Which one do you recommend to use?
Both DSL and cable modems provide sufficient bandwidth to support the 1ButtontoWiFi service. Recommended bandwidth is a minimum of 256kbps.
Do I need a fixed / static IP to use 1ButtontoWiFi?
No, you do not need a static IP address to enjoy the advantages of 1ButtontoWiFi. 1ButtontoWiFi is designed to work in a dynamic address (DHCP) environment, such as that available with most home gateway routers.
Does the person I call have to use 1ButtontoWiFi?
No, with 1ButtontoWiFi you can call any phone number that you can call with a traditional phone. Calls to regular phones are charged on a per minute basis while those to other 1ButtontoWiFi users are free.
Can I assign a static IP address to the Control Center?
No, the Control Center is pre programmed to obtain an IP address when connected to the internet.
Is there an annual contract?
No, there is no term-commitment. You may cancel your service at any time.
Can I receive collect calls?
No, you cannot receive collect calls using 1ButtontoWiFi.
How do you bill calls to regular phones?
All calls are billed based on the area code you dial, regardless of the type of phone called.
Do I need a computer to use 1ButtontoWiFi?
No. With your Control Center you can use many of 1ButtontoWiFi services directly. You will need a computer, however, if you intend to use advanced features and to manage your account including recharging your account for additional minutes.
Is my 1ButtontoWiFi number listed in a phone book?
No, your 1ButtontoWiFi number(s) will not be listed in a phone book.
How do I make an international call?
In the US : Dial 011 + country code + number.
Outside the US : Dial 0 + country code + number.
Can I use 1ButtontoWiFi phone during a power outage?
Typically, no. All telephony hardware including high-speed modems (DLS or cable), computers and phone adapters require electricity to operate.
How does the sound quality compare to my current phone?
You'll find the quality is as good, if not better! Because signals are transmitted and received digitally over the Internet, the quality may very well exceed what you're currently getting.
Are calls made through 1ButtontoWiFi secure?
Yes, all calls are sent securely through 1ButtontoWiFi's VoIP network.
Where is 1ButtontoWiFi available?
1ButtontoWiFi Control Centers are currently available in the continental United States. However, as a subscriber, you may access your Control Center with a local access number, where available, when out of the United States. You will be provided a PIN which will allow the subscriber to make calls through their Control Unit without an interent connection.
Can I receive calls with 1ButtontoWiFi?
Yes. You can receive calls through your Control Center when you have a regular telephone plugged in. 1ButtontoWiFi also offers a voicemail service, where you can receive calls if you are not available when called.
Is there an activation fee?
No. Your Control Center will allow you to make calls immediately after activation.
What is the minimum subscription term period?
No minimum period is required.
How are payments to my account done?
You may make payments on your account via the 1ButtontoWiFi web site using your credit card or debit card in any designated amount. You will also have the option to make automatic recharging payments on your account in incremental amounts up to $100. With this option, the user never has to worry about running out of minutes as the selected credit/debit card will be charged when the funds remaining in the account run below $2.00.
Do I need a PIN and a password?
When you order your Control Center, or Register your Control Center (Registration is necessary if you did not purchase your Control Center directly from WorldTel), you will be emailed a username, password, PIN and a personal VoIP number. The email information will allow the user to log into the web site and view their personal account information.
How do I check my account balance?
Once you login into the 1ButtontoWiFi web site, you are able to see the information about your account balance and all features available.
Can I use 1ButtontoWiFi if my computer is behind a firewall?
If you have a router with firewall installed to connect to the Internet or if you using the service in a corporate environment, 1ButtontoWiFi provides a Native Address Translation "NAT" that allows the subscriber to use the phone in such environments.
What Internet connections will 1ButtontoWiFi work with?
1ButtontoWiFi is compatible with any high speed Internet services such as DSL or Cable. The recommended minimum bandwidth is 256kbps.
