Chairman of the Board & Director

Dr. Tucker is the former Director and CEO of Hutchison 3G, and one of the three founding directors of Orange plc, a company that was brought from a startup company in 1991 with a handful of staff to an enterprise with revenues of £3bn p.a. operating in 6 countries by 2000. Orange plc was ultimately sold to France Telecom for $25bn. Dr. Tucker is currently serving as Director of four companies and previously served as Director of five other companies. Dr. Tucker studied Electrical Engineering at Manchester University completing his studies with a Doctorate following research into the optimum techniques for interfacing humans with computer driven displays.


CEO & Director

Emil Malak is the largest single shareholder of Voip-Pal stock. He was a co-founder of Digifonica in 2003 and oversaw the development of the patents which were acquired by Voip-Pal in 2013. Mr. Malak also serves as Chairman of the Board for a biotech company currently conducting cancer research in Germany.



Mr. Chang brings proven entrepreneurial experience in starting and establishing a $100M US computer manufacturing company in the 1980s. In 1988, Mr. Chang was included in the MicroTimes list of the 100 most influential people in the microcomputer industry. Mr. Chang was nominated as a 1989 finalist for “Entrepreneur of the Year” by Ernst & Young.



Professor Ed Candy is the former Technology Director of Hutchison 3G, serving as 3 Group Technology Director for Hutchison 3G from 2000 to 2009, where he was primarily responsible for the technology for the world's most advanced 3G Networks operating across nine countries. From 1996-2000, Mr. Candy served as Group Development Director for Simoco and from 1993-1996 as Technology Director for Orange, where he contributed significantly to the creation and success of the personal communication network. Mr. Candy now acts as a Strategic Technology advisor for the 3 Group and provides innovation guidance, strategic advice and consultancy through his company Strategitel Ltd.



Dr. Ryan Thomas has served as Voip-Pal's in-house counsel since 2013. He has been practicing law since 1979 and has over 35 years experience as a litigator. Over the course of his career he has served on many business and professional boards and held several key administrative positions. He is also a teacher of law and business. Dr. Thomas has a strong technological and computer science background and has extensive experience in patent law. During his tenure with Voip-Pal he has been instrumental in advising the Company on a variety of important legal matters.



Dr. Franke has an extensive background both as a scientific research leader and as a successful business executive.  He has conducted extensive research, focusing largely on oncology, while simultaneously serving in the capacity of CEO or other key management role that has garnered him significant transaction experience.  Since 2017, Dr. Franke has served as the Chief Scientific Officer & VP of Business Development of OncoGenerix, a company engaged in research and production of oncology pharmaceuticals.  Since 2016, he has served as adviser to the Chairman of Phyton Biotech, a nanotechnology company focused on oncology, where he previously served as CTO & VP of Business Development starting in 2009.  Dr. Franke founded Natural Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company, in 1998, where he served as CEO until the end of 2009. He was previously a consultant at Booz Allen & Hamilton, where he consulted on significant M&A transactions focused on pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.  Dr. Franke holds an MS/MBA from the Sloan School of Management (MIT), a PhD in Chemistry from MIT, and a masters in Chemistry from the University of Freiberg,



Mr. Leon is an experienced business professional with a track record of success and an extensive background as a results oriented corporate executive, entrepreneur and business mediator. He has an engineering degree from Villanova University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a former engineer for GE and IBM. Mr. Leon has been the Founder or Co-Founder of three successful startup companies including his current company Outpace Systems. Founded in 2013, Outpace Systems specializes in B2B and B2C personalized web and email marketing and generated over $22 million of contract sales in its first 18 months. He also serves as a Mediator/Arbitrator to the financial and business community upon request.


Chief Financial Officer

D. Barry Lee is an experienced senior management consultant with proven abilities in all aspects of business, providing financial management, consulting and advisory services to private and public companies. He has over 30 years of experience working with public and private companies with particular expertise in financial management across various sectors including domestic and international energy, technology, real estate and resources. He has an extensive history in a broad spectrum of corporate endeavors, including start‐ups, mergers and acquisitions and restructurings,corporate governance and public company compliance.



Dr. Huttunen has been a part of Digifonica since 2006.  He is an engineer and a co-inventor on several Digifonica patents. He attained a Masters Degree and a PhD in Computer Science from Lappeenranta University of Technology in Finland. His background includes working as a Senior Software Engineer for Intel and Senior Web Architect for Nokia. During his time at Digifonica, Dr Huttenen was the R&D Manager and was instrumental in overseeing the operation of Digifonica’s three supernodes in Canada, the United Kingdom and Denmark. Currently he is working as Director of Research & Development at Mobiliya and continues to serve as a technology consultant for Voip-Pal.



Dr Krapyvny is one of the founders of Digifonica and has worked with Digifonica/Voip-Pal as an engineer since 2003. He is a graduate of Zaporozhye State University in the Ukraine and Moscow Sate University in Russia. He has a Master’s Degree in Theoretical Physics and a PhD in Mathematics. Dr Krapyvny has served as a technical consultant on software applications for Digifonica and Voip-Pal.
